my Muffy Dog. |
Muffy dog was a little female Shih Tzu named after the black and white bird called a Puffin ~ Muffin - Puffin. She was the first dog I ever had . I hadn't planned on ever getting a dog ~ after all, I was a "cat " person . I spotted her in a Pet Shop ( yuk I know ) sitting next to her brother. I only wanted to hold her, she looked so little and cute. Fifty puppy kisses later, and I was walking out the door with her. Muffy was a sweetheart ... so gentle, and she loved everyone she met. She was always asking to be picked up and would grunt and make her Shih Tzu noises when you hugged her. Whenever I see a Barbie doll, I think of Muffy because that was her favorite toy as a puppy. Later, she liked a big gray stuffed kitty and would bring it to you for a game of tug of war.
Muffy dog got cancer when she was eight years old. Cancer of the mouth. It was a shock to me ~ the groomer found it under her chin. It grew very fast, and we hardly had time to say good bye before I had to let her go. Muffy dog was precious to me. I miss her very much and think of her every day. I only wish that we could have been together longer. She is at Rainbow Bridge waiting for me and guarding the gate.

MUFFY ANGEL
I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with the light of love.
Sung by Alabama......Muffy Angel is forever in my heart...

Bereavement by Dave the Dogman
Bereavement is a small writing by Dave the Dogman. I found his words very comforting after I had lost Muffy Dog. While words cannot take away the grief and the pain of loosing a beloved pet, it does help to understand why ...
